Recommended Lesson Durations

For most students, our recommended lesson length for private tutoring is 2 hours. However, we recommend shorter meetings (approximately 1.5 hour each) for younger students in grades K-8, and/or your initial lesson with a new tutor. Our tutors are also available for private lessons of 3 hours or more, but we do not recommend this unless absolutely necessary.   

 

Locations

Two options are available. The first option is to travel to the tutor: each of our tutors offers lessons at a public or office location near his/her home.  Or, if you prefer, nearly all of our tutors also offer tutoring in the comfort & privacy of your home.  We also offer online tutoring & group courses. 

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

UltiTutor is completely confidential. Your academic records, performance, personal information, and billing information are kept strictly private. We will never sell, rent, or otherwise distribute any of your information.

 

RESPONSIVENESS

We will endeavor to respond to any contact you have with our administrative office on the same business day.

 

BILLING AND FAPIAO

If you would like to pay by bank transfer or cash, we request that you prepay. We will only be able to provide services while you have a balance on your account. You will have access to all billing information through your online account. All our tuition fee rates are quoted excluding tax fees for the FAPIAO to your benefit. Official FAPIAOS are issued with a 5% surcharge fee. However, we do offer food or other utilities and expenses FAPIAO at no extra charge.

SCHEDULING

We try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to lesson times. Our tutors understand that many students have very busy schedules, and we are happy to accommodate each student's needs. We schedule lessons on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are available for lessons 7 days a week, 9AM-9PM.   

 

CANCELLATIONS

We require 12 hours notice for any cancellations. If less notice is given, we will charge at full rate for the cancelled session. Similarly, if your tutor has to cancel a session with less than 12 hours notice, your account will be credited one tutoring session.

 

RUSH REQUESTS

Tutoring requests should be made with at least 72 hours advance notice in order for us to appropriately process your request. We can't promise we can meet your requests if the requests are made with less than 24 hours advanced notice.

 

PACKAGES AND FREE HOURS

We are glad to offer discounted packages to any clients wishing to purchase 24, 48 or 72 hours of subject tutoring at a time. Should you choose to buy a package, the price will be calculated based on the rate of the tutor that you choose. Please be aware that if you change tutors or subjects, your hourly rate may change, altering the total number of hours in your package. Furthermore, any hours purchased in a package are only refundable at hourly rate and expire one year from date of purchase. Free hours are NOT refundable or exchangeable for cash. Free hours are awarded AFTER you finish the package. If you do not finish the package, free hours are forfeited.

Unused tutoring hours you purchase are refundable up to 30 days from the date of purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your selected tutor after the initial session, please call us and we will help you identify a tutor who might be a better fit and not charge you for that second 1 to 2 hour session. Following the second session but before any subsequent session, if you remain dissatisfied, we will issue you a full refund of all unused hours. In nearly all cases, however, this policy has proven to be unnecessary: over the last decade, fewer than one percent of UltiTutor students and/or clients have requested a refund.
